All the Pretty Lies by M. Leighton Blog Tour

All the Pretty Lies
“Live, no regrets”

Her…
Sloane Locke has led a sheltered life.  However, with a history like hers, she can understand why her brothers and her father want so much to protect her.  She has gone along with it for twenty long years, but those days are over.  For the girl who never makes promises, Sloane has made a pact with herself that things will change on her twenty-first birthday.  So when the clock strikes midnight, Sloane strikes out to spread her wings and break a few rules.

Him…
In addition to inking skin, Hemi Spencer possesses many talents. Controlling himself has never been one of them.  It’s never had to be.  He’s lived a life of indulgence for as long as he can remember.  Right up until tragedy struck.  Now, he’s nothing but controlled. He’s a man on a mission, one who will let nothing and no one stand in his way.

Them…
Nothing in their lives could’ve prepared Sloane and Hemi for what they’d find in each other—distraction and obsession, love and possession.  But the one thing they can’t find is a future.  Neither one has been totally honest.  And they’ll soon learn that the devil is in the details.  In the details and in the lies.

How far will two people go to live in the now when the now is all they’ve got?

Dee's Review
I am so in love with Hemi. I needed to get that out. I think it's the whole inked up bad boy thing. Nope, it's all pure Hemi. So when this book starts, they meet over tattoos. She is getting one, and he is giving it. You can guess, he has to touch her... his hands.. her skin... yup.. tingles and shivers and a connection that he can't have, a connection he has to refuse, he has to ignore. Doesn't he? There are things that he has to do, things he has to find out. And Sloane, she's trying to break out, spread her wings, be an adult, break some rules. Hemi can be her rule breaker, right? Her brother and father have kept her sheltered for such a long time. She's 21 and out to be an adult. I remember those day. My first tattoo, spreading my wings, first drink. sigh... Though, I kind of wish my tattoo artist was as hot as Hemi. Yum. umm..ladies. He even lets her tat him up. They tat her foot together!! Swoon.See, inked up bad boy had me swooning like crazy. He does agree to teach her how to tattoo, for school of course. You won't believe the real reason he is doing it. It will actually kind of break your heart. I know, I know, sorry, but there has to be some drama and angst in the book.. You will totally not hate it though, believe me. You know what I totally loved about this book, and well really all M Leighton's books, is that they are love stories. But it's not sappy love stories. They are drama, emotional, put you to the test, are you paying attention, love stories. You get sucked in and spit out. At the end you turn around and are like "Damn, it's over. Shit, I want more!".  That's what I think every time! Not to mention, she doesn't have these easy, floozy, weak characters. She has female lead characters that kick ass, take names, and don't hold back- and Sloane is no disappointment. She has reasons to live life with no regrets, no looking back. And no, I'm not going to tell you what they are. But she does. She's strong, smart, but not annoying and stubborn. She falls in love, and she doesn't lose her sense of self. And Hemi, he is a man on a mission. He has changed who he was, and now meets a woman who is his match. He doesn't cave or change or puss out. He breaks the mold and becomes a real man for her. He makes mistakes, apologizes, sends flowers. He's real. I love it. I loved the characters. I love the way they meshed. I love that he didn't cave right away.  I love that she was 21 and still a virgin. I love that she was in love with him, and he made her first time mean something. I love that he took care of her. I just really loved this book. There was no, "i wish this would happen", no doubts, nothing. It was amazing. You really should read about my tatted up bad  boy.. I mean Sloane's tatted up boy. I give this book 4 hearts. Sigh.
