SYNOPSIS:

Sadie Miller is attempting to change her ways and hide somewhere no one knows her former self. She only wants to finish her final year of college, obtain her degree, and get out from the hold of her affluent parents. Then she meets Brady Carsen, the lead singer of The Invisibles, a local band popular with the college crowd. She tries to stay away but quickly realizes that, although he might not be what she’s used to, he’s exactly what she needs and more importantly, everything she could possibly want.

Unfortunately, Sadie’s troubled past left her with insecurities that make her question Brady’s true intentions. And while Brady is convinced that Sadie is the one for him, he has his own secrets that he fears will be their undoing. If they want to be together, they will have to stand united and fight the outside influences that are threatening to tear them apart. Can they put their pasts behind them for good in order to secure their future?

EXCERPT:
The next morning the light wakes me up, streaming into the small room and I find myself alone in a strange bed. I look around, trying to remember where I am and what I did. The dirty clothes overflowing in the hamper and the sports team paraphernalia on the wall tell me that I am most likely in a frat house…again.
I tip toe to get my shoes, hooking them in my hands. I slowly open the door, peering right and left down the hall. I see no one, so I quietly make my way down the stairs. It seems like the front door is a mile away and I can’t get through it fast enough. Just as my hand reaches the knob, I hear talking in the next room.
“I wouldn’t brag, Soren, I had her last week.” A deep voice laughs. “Actually, you might be the last to have her.”
“She a great lay though,” Jeff Soren says in return.
“I told you she was,” the other male agrees. “Ever since…the incident, she has become the college slut.”
“I know. It’s kind of sad though.” Jeff’s voice actually sounds concerned. “I wish…”
“Dude. You can’t save girls like that, you just enjoy what they give you,” the other voice replies back.
I close my eyes, taking a deep breath. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Mascara is stained in long lines down my face and my long honey-colored hair looks like a bird made it their home. My lips are swollen red, and I can’t help but think I resemble a hooker on the corner waiting for her next trick.

I turn the knob to the door slowly, hoping Jeff and his buddy don’t hear me. I sneak out, walking across the street to my sorority house. I am happy to find that everyone is either still asleep or out. When I crash into my bed, I take the picture out of my drawer that’s been hidden away since last year. I clutch it hard against my chest, while sobs escape my mouth. Curling up into the fetal position on my twin bed, I can’t help but think how I have disappointed him. I need to change the direction of my life. Make him proud of me.

Dee's Review:

When I first read the synopsis for this book I was worried. Another college girl. Another band guy.
But, I needn't be worried. This didn't follow the normal band guy is a ladies man, virgin college girl storyline. It was quite the opposite. Yes they fall in love. But she's a slut turning herself around starting over at a new school and he's known he's wanted her since he saw her. Knew she was it. See- quite the difference. And she's the one fighting it. I thought this was super cute.
I couldn't quite figure out what was going on with Jessa. I could tell she had a secret, but most of the characters do. Some are bigger, Brady and Sadie, and some aren't so bad, Grant. we still have the stupid frat boys and the jealous girls, Kara, and you will want to kill them both.

But that's what Brady is for. Back to their secrets. Both of them think these are deal breakers and are so dang scared to let people in. They don't realize how having the right person in your life means there are no deal breakers. For Sadie, when you meet her parents, you kind of see why she's been carrying this blame. Her dad is an asshole. No other word for it. It was like instant button pusher for me.

I was pissed. Who says that shit! Who! Freakin rich snobby bastards. Sorry... Deep breath.

Told you. Button pusher. Anyway. For Brady, he really shouldn't be ashamed. He can't make anyone so something that they don't want to. You can't make someone get help. Now Kara. That is where I wanted to slap him upside his head. And Sadie too. Stand up for your man, your relationship. Brady did. He stood up for you in front of all those people. Balls woman! Then Once she goes back to the hospital I was like finally!! Jeez! I kind of wish she would've bumped her head when she sat up! Gah!  Can I just say I totally love Grandma Ida. Seriously. I think that will be me when I'm old! My daughter and granddaughter better totally be prepared for me to tell her I want to get action and when I think a man is hot! She may be old but she's not blind! I thought this book was really cute I liked it. I give it

4 hearts.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR –

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
