Title: Spin (Songs of Corruption #1)
Author: C. D. Reiss
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: March 12, 2014
Mafia capo, Antonio Spinelli blew through my orderly life like a cyclone. Gorgeous and passionate, with a breathtaking brutality, he put me under his spell the moment he touched me, drawing me into his underworld of risk, violence and betrayal. And I found, just as this sophisticated savage didn’t trust me, I didn’t trust myself. Something happened to me. Some alchemy from the heat between us. I discovered I was a savage, too.

Let me start by telling you how much I love CD Reiss. I read the Beg series and was obsessed with Monica and Jonathon. With this series, with Theresa and Spin, I had a hard time staying obsessed with it. It was like I would get really into it, then drop off, then back in, then drop off. Though I think that may be more because of me, than the writing of CD Reiss or the book itself. I know what I can tell you, I liked it enough that I'll read it again when the next installment comes out. I liked it enough to know that Spin is droolworthy. I liked it enough to know her ex is a douchebag. I also liked it enough to know her friend is a little strange and crazy. I really liked that the story line wasn't something that I had read before. I also like that we get to see a tiny bit more of Jonathon. I'm not really a fan of her sister, with her drinking problem and all. But I am a fan of Spin and how he took care of her, how he continues to take care of her. The back and forth and heartbreak of both Spin and Theresa was sad, I was pulling for them. I want it to work out. Regardless of everything outside of their relationship, I really think CD does a great job of writing two characters who you wouldn't think would come together do and are perfect for one another. I truly can not pin point what it is that threw me off. But it obviously wasn't something huge because I still give the book 3.5 hearts!
About the AuthorCD Reiss lives smack in the middle of Los Angeles with her children and husband. She likes to make pretty pictures and write dirty scenes. She eats dark chocolate and chili, together, sometimes with bacon, and doesn't care what you think about that. There are a million more things she could tell you about herself besides that, but they're all too boring to mention in company.
