Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover review by Sandie

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance.

At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one...

Includes an original soundtrack created by musician Griffin Peterson.

Colleen Hoover is one of those writers that when a new book is announced I am there pre-ordering and waiting with bated breath for it to go live. I was lucky to be gifted with an advanced copy by the publishers via Netgalley. (Thank you Atria)

Have you ever read a book that touches you in a special way that for days after you are still dreaming and reeling from the characters? That is what this book has done to me. Colleen has created a beautifully, wondrously, emotionally impacting world that had me crying, laughing, feelings so deep in my soul that I wouldn't have even cared if the zombie apocalypse had started I wouldn't couldn't put this down until it was over.

Sydney is a college student, living with her BFF Tori. One day she hears Ridge out on his balcony playing his guitar, being a music major she goes outside to listen and commences to do so anytime she hears him playing. Those encounters set in motion the chain reaction of heartbreak, betrayal, loyalty, friendship and pranks. Oh the pranks! I loved the pranks.

I don't want to give away too much but if you are familiar with Colleen's work then you know her linguistic ability to write stories that ignite passion in such a beautiful way that you begin to cry without even realizing what is happening. Well at least for me this is what happens. I love the way this book is set up, as a reader I could experience the music in the book and not just the lyrics. It just makes me bond that much closer to the characters. You don't even have to leave the book to pull up the playlist, you just click a link (in the book!!!)...this idea is ingenious! Oh oh and did you see the cover? OH MY GAWD. I need to get the physical copy for my shelf.

I am telling you, this book was beyond what I was expecting. The twists, the turns, the heartache, the feels...DAMN it, it was heart wrenching, but I would do it all over again in a minute to experience Ridge and Sydney.

Colleen Hoover has proven that she is worthy of being on the #1 best sellers list ten times over because every.single.book. tops the other. I am in awe of her and her ability to create these stories that suck me in, take my heart, shatter and destroy slowly. Then pick it up shard by shard and put it back together without a sliver missing to make my heart whole again. As if it never cracked in the first place. That is pure talent people!

Do I even need to rate this? I mean seriously do I?
5/5 hearts
