Resilient by Nikki Mathis Thompson Blog Tour

What a difference a year makes and for Katrine MacNamara truer words have never been spoken.
Divorce: Moved passed it
Grad school: Accepted
New Job: Nailed it
Love: Xander Who?
After emotional ups and down, a broken heart twice over, Katrine is ready for a fresh start. She has proven to herself that she can come back from anything life can throw her way, stronger and wiser. New love is on the horizon and she feels ready to give love another chance. No flings, no casual sex. A real relationship, but with whom she doesn't know. Will there be a new contender? Someone right under her nose? Or the one that got away?
The gang is back again with big laughs and stronger drinks. This sexy romp satisfies all four senses and presses all the right buttons.

Resilient the follow-up to Rebound.

***Teaser***
"You can dance around the issue all day and you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. But you do have to be honest with yourself. Are you over him or not? And even if you’re weren’t, would  you ever do anything about it?” Katrine shook her head and sighed. “Well then your only choice is to move on… and spread your legs.”
“You were almost wise just then, almost…

Nikki Mathis Thompson spent her formative years singing, dancing and creating her own world of make-believe. From an early age she developed a love of reading that has grown exponentially to near addiction. She has a business degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her degree looks great in the frame, but hasn't been utilized in years. She gladly left the cubicle life behind to raise her daughter and a son was added to the mix some years later. You can find her devouring a book while drinking a glass of wine, doing her part to save the planet or lip-synching to her favorite songs while running through her suburb. She lives outside of Dallas with her family. Rebound is her first novel.

Rebound was one of my favorite books this year. And the ending was by far one of the worst heartbreakers ever. I mean like ripped out. If you haven't read this book, you need to. So I was highly anticipating Resilient. I could not wait. When I knew it was coming out, I was running in circles excited. As soon as I read the first page, I remembered why. I missed Katrine and her girls. I missed their smart assness and banter. I missed their ability to make me laugh. I mean who else gets smacked in the eye by their own boob. Yeah, true story. Well, in the book I mean. Then there is Ian. The whole time everything is happening and their relationship was developing I was like wow! Okay Ian. How can she not want this guy. I mean don't get me wrong Xander was amazing and hot. But what he did, it broke her heart after she just got it back. I get part of her heart still belonged to him, but she had to move on right? Best way to get over a guy is to get under a new one. And boy did she get under a new one. RAWR Ian, RAWR! Then it happen. Xander shows back up and the wound is ripped back open. Those emotions are just as fresh. And that's the beginning of it all. The beginning of falling back in love. That's the beginning of the rollercoaster that Nikki takes you. The rollercoaster that you are dying to ride.

This is also the beginning of breaking hearts. The beginning of awkwardness. It's the beginning of it all. Awkward because her friends don't want to like Xander. I'm not explaining the rest. You have to read it for that. I'm not gonna lie, the beginning of the book felt like it was a bit rushed for me. But in all fairness, I preferred it because I just wanted to get to Ian and Xander. I know, I'm pervy like that. But when I got to it... Nikki didn't fail to deliver in any way, shape or form. She has your heart jumping from one team to the other without realizing you are doing it. She has you pulling for Xander even after you know what happened. She has you wanting to tell her to man up and fight for what she wants. The way it all unfolds is spectacular. Nikki doesn't hold back and you take the ride right with Katrine and the girls. I love that at time she has you guessing who is present and who things are happening to - who is she looking at, who is she thinking of, who is in the hospital at the end. She finds ways to keep you on your toes and it's worth the wait every time. I can't get enough Xander, Katrine, the girls and Ian. I give this book 4.5 hearts.
