Dee’s Review

For me this book was a little off. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book, but I had a little trouble with some of the parts. I couldn't jump right on board with some of the parts of the book.

I couldn't get with the fact that as damaged as Ava was, and she had every right to be, she so quickly fell in love and let someone in. I expected more break downs, more of a fight of falling in love. I didn't expect Ava to do it so quickly and effortlessly. I mean she had a breakdown, but less than what I was expecting. U thought that the mirror would be a bigger issue, flashbacks or nightmares would haunt her, and self esteem would be a struggle.. but no. And I was all like damn.. I want to see her breakdown. Does this mean I have issues? Probably...

And Dax, I totally get why she fell so quickly.. but it was so seemless. She picked up sexting and everything so effortlessly. I get they are a match made for one another. . but I don't know, I expected more drama. The beginning did grab me and pull me, and I didn't put this down til I was finished. SO let me tell you, it is a good book, but I just expected...more, I guess. I wasn't really impressed with Dax at first. And the fact that he hinted to us he had secrets, but never revealed all of them, intrigues me. But it also worries me. I mean come on, she laid it all out there.

Let me back up the train on Dex. He was a typical rocker. And he didn't even pay her attention. So when he took her home and was all wounded animal that she  up and left the morning after, I was a little taken back. I guess some parts just skipped and jumped a little for me. Maybe it means I really liked the book, so I wanted more, I don't know.  But I did really like Ava's spunk, and the way she takes care of Abby is amazing. Now that I loved. Now when you threw in that wrench at the end and just cut me off cold turkey.. I was dying! But I can say, I was awfully proud of Dax, on more than one occasion. He really is a good man. The flow of their relationship was a little choppy, but I really liked it. Overall I gave this 3 hearts.
