Hi everyone! It’s Melissa from the Jessie Lane duo, and today I’ve stopped by Book Boyfriend Reviews today for a chat. HI there Dee! Thanks for having me.
Hi Melissa!! Thanks for stopping by, we are huge fans!! Shall we get started? Prepare yourself...

Where did the idea for the star series come from? It all started from a dream Crystal had one night which later produced the first book, The Burning Star. The Frozen Star is the product of me taking over her vision and expanding on it.

What inspired it? A lot of daydreaming and research on my part was the inspiration behind my expansion on the The Frozen Star, on top of the world Crystal had already established in The Burning Star.

Are any of the names of characters names of people you know in real life? Unfortunately, no. All of the characters names are their own, as well as their personalities.

If you could tell us one thing to look out for in the frozen star what would it be? Expect the unexpected with a few of the characters. Not everything is as it seems, so be prepared for it.

Any hidden surprises? Of course! You will just have to read it to find out.

Will this be the end to the story or will there be spinoffs or another book? There is going to be one last book in the series titled The Divine Star, and there are some hints at who that is in The Frozen Star.

Will Kay discover more lies and secrets? Definitely more secrets

What does Kira have to look forward to? Having what she has always dreamed of. A family. Freedom. People that genuinely care for her. But now she has to fight in order to save one of them.

Do our characters get their happily ever after?? They’re getting there, but the journey to happiness is a bumpy one.

Who are your idols and mentors? I love Maya Angelou and Anne Rice. Their writings inspired me to want to pursue writing.

If you get inspiration in the middle of the night or some random place, what do you do? I always have my phone on me so I can jot my notes down. I love my dictation app!

Where do you do your best work on this series? I work nights, so that’s normally the best time for me express my ideas on paper.

Do you have any weird writing rituals? I’m a coffee drinker, so I always have to brew a fresh pot before I start writing. That or I make some tea.

Have you ever fan girled over anyone? Cassandra Clare. I got my hubs to take me to one of her signings and he patiently sat with me through her little Q & A and got to watch me nerd out with a bunch a kids.

Do you have any works you have started and haven't finished? I have three that are almost complete now. Unfortunately, life happens so I had to put them aside. My plan is to have the two that are the closest to their happily ever afters out by the fall.

What's the best advice anyone ever gave you? Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t do something, and never let them stop you from pursuing your dreams.

Before I go I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Dee for letting me stop by and chat today. I hope you all will check out Jessie Lane’s latest release, The Frozen Star, from our YA/NA Paranormal Romance & Fantasy series! Happy Reading!
Big Squishy hugs to Melissa!! Congrats on the Frozen Star release! We love you!!

The Frozen Star
Book #2 in the Star series
by Jessie Lane
Release Day: May 29, 2014
Blurb:
The journey continues:
Kay had discovered secrets, lies, shocking truths, and even love in a strange new world hidden from humans. Everything she thought she knew was turned upside down when she found out three things:

- She wasn’t human.
- She has a power she can't control.
- And there was a possibility that she had found a way to cure the cancer that was rapidly killing her with that very same power.

Then, just when she was on the precipice of gaining everything she wanted and saving her own life, tragedy struck. Will she be able to fight her way back to Ryan and save herself in the process?

Kira had lived a terrifying and confusing life of servitude and abuse under Lord Donovan and his son, Cole. It was an existence that had stripped away her emotions, and eventually, her reason to keep fighting. Just when she thought freedom was within reach, Lord Donovan struck again, ruining her plans and almost killing her in the process. When she awoke from her injuries, it was to stunning revelations that would change her life forever. Changes that she was not entirely sure she wanted to embrace.

Persistent individuals such as Prince Kane refuse to let her walk away, though. Will she embrace all of the sudden fortune in her life? Or will she walk away from those who need her most, forsaking their acceptance and love?
