Burning Up Blog Tour, Interview with Layla, Review by Dee

Scorching heat...

Erotic pleasure...

Intense passion...

Layla Jennings thought she had it all figured out. The right time, the right place and the right guy.
After leaving behind her life and friends in Long Beach, Layla must now walk the path she has chosen, hand in hand with the man who holds her heart.

As the flame of love continues to burn brightly, she discovers more about herself and the man she loves every day. But what happens if the fire goes out? What happens when half of your heart is across an ocean?

With the other man in her life unwilling to give up his fight for her, and a danger she is too blind to see, Layla must battle between the safe and steady journey she has embarked on and the one that leads to destinations unknown

Hi Layla, we want to thank you for taking time to sit down and have some coffee with us. Or hot chocolate, or tea, or whatever it is you want to drink. Let's get started, shall we?
Layla: Can’t wait!

How are you dealing with the fact that so many people are upset with the choices that you have made?
I'd say are they infallible? Never made bad choices or had to make hard ones? I'm twenty one. Who knows what they want at nineteen? I was thrust between two men who are incredible. Wouldn't you be confused and torn? The biggest problem was that I didn't want to choose, I suppose.

San: Nope I would have chose Ollie from the jump but I think its mostly because outside the bedroom Jared was an ass, but I get what you mean. I think if you could mesh them together it would be perfect. Like Jared in the bedroom and Ollie the rest of the time. *laughs*
Shan: I am with San

Layla: That’s a lot of man!

Do you have any regrets?
Dozens. But it's too late to change things now and I'm finally happy with my choices.

Anything you would change or do differently?
I wouldn't have sent a text...
San: Agree, seriously though I get it. I couldn't look at Ollie's face either.

So you see where I’m coming from

Why is it so hard for you to make a decision?
Have you met the guys!? It's impossible! Each is so different but amazing and alluring for individual reasons. It was so difficult.

Shan: I think I could have picked one. Maybe the one with the sexy ass lip ring, and dark hair. *Sigh*

Do you love both equally or is it a different kind of love for each?
It's a different kind of love. I can't explain it.
what is it about that you love most about each man?
Jared is strong, commands attention and respect but is also sweet and romantic. He likes to take care of me in every way possible.
Ollie is ...Ollie. He's fun, funny, hot, sexy and he lets me be who I am. He wants to take care of me but let me do my own thing too. He's been my friend and a lover.

In Burning up you said that your body craved what Jared did to you, as punishment and pleasure, do you think Ollie can bestow that or craving?
Oh god yes! You have no idea what that boy can do with a skinny black tie, a lip ring and piece of ice...
Dee: *choking on hot chocolate * Sorry.. I .. um.. yeah, didn't see that coming.
San:*mutters* Damn him!
Shan: Does anybody have anything stronger I can add to my drink....I need something to calm me down. *fanning myself*

Do you think Ollie has truly forgiven you?
I don't know. I'd like to think that we've turned a page and started a new beginning. He tells me he forgives me, but I think some scars run deep. But I intend to do whatever it takes to heal them all.

Have you forgiven yourself?
Not entirely. I caused a lot if hurt but things have a funny way of working out. Jared is travelling and is having the best time finally getting to know himself and acting his age. And Ollie...he's touring with DOA! It's his dream. I'm just happy to be along for the ride.
Dee: *murmuring under her breath* Oh, I bet Sandie would be happy to go along for a ride with him too.
San: *laughs* Shhh Dee she doesn't know about Ollie, the monster and I in Vegas!
Layla *Raises a suspicious eyebrow*

How are Mel and Amy doing?
They’re awesome as always. They’re still totally loved up but in a less stomach churning, public display of affection sort of way. They’re just enjoying college life. We all are!
Shan: I love them two...They remind me of Dee and San

What is the most important thing about your friends that you want them to know?

That I adore them and how much I appreciate the way they have supported me even when they didn’t agree with my choices.

*San looks directly at Layla*

Its great that you have awesome friends I think they really helped you out along your
journey. Seriously though, Ollie is my friend and I just want him happy and you make him happy, so thank you for that. Do realize that if you hurt him again I will be very upset and not liable for my actions. *smiles sweetly* I know you truly love him so please take care of him. I think you have matured in many ways so I am glad you chose him. I wish you both the best.
Layla: I get that and I’m glad that Ollie has people like you looking out for him.
Dee: Yeah, thanks for taking the time and sitting down with us. Can you stop breaking hearts now, please?!?
*Giggles* Absolutely.

OMG. I don't know where to start. I don't think I have the ability to form words right now. I actually had to wait like a week to write a review. I am so mad at Layla.

I was all... I can't. I just.. can't.

So so mad at her. I stand firmly behind my stance that I don't think she deserves either Ollie or Jared right now AND AND AND I am NOT picking sides. I think they all need a time out. They all should take a step back and just breathe.

I had to sit back and think why I am so mad at her, don't I remember being 19 or 20? Don't I remember that age of indecisiveness? NO.. man my memory sucks ass..

I loved Ollie's reaction to Layla. I was like.. a text.. oh man. And this is their first encounter. Hold On Layla.. this is gonna hurt!

I do have to admit, though I remained mad at Layla through the majority of the book, I got very upset with Jared. GASP! I know. I'm usually all about the dominant men! SO as you can tell, I spent a large majority of this book mad. And well, turned on. But, majorly mad. Then it hit me, why I was so frustrated with Layla. I felt like through a large majority of the book she was a push over. She let Jared make any and all decisions that needed to be made. I felt like she lost her backbone. Yes, she broke Jared's rules every now and then... but she never stood up to him. They just used sex, exteremely hot, steamy, yummy, nail scratching sex to solve everything.

But um.. the desk... HOLY CRAP.. that was hot! whew! Moving on....Yes, she was following her heart, so she says, however, she seemed to have lost her backbone. Then there was the confrontation of the year and all the could do was cry. And get turned on. But it's Ollie here, who wouldn't get turned on with him that close? I think a nun would get turned on being that close to a prime piece of man meant.

I don't blame her, but I think right now she is being completely controlled by her hormones and can't keep it under control. And because of that she is wishy washy. She doesn't know what she wants. Thus, upsetting me . PICK A MAN LAYLA, PICK A MAN!  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PICK JUST ONE. I feel like she's broken both of these men. She needs to make her final choice. She's even gotten Daniel sucked in. She's like a venus fly trap to men right now. A week. It took me a week to write this all down. A FREAKING WEEK! and you know what? I still loved every freaking word of this book. It does take you on an emotional rollercoaster of love, lust, and frustration...and you will be dying to see how this story ends. I know I am. But that just goes to show you how awesome Marie Coulson is that she can do that to you with words.
I gave this book 4 hearts!
