WISH I MAY
 by Lexi Ryan
Release Date: October 4, 2013

BOOK SUMMARY:
I grew up wishing on stars.

My father taught me to believe…in destiny, in magic, in happily ever after. Dreams were my scripture and the starry night sky was my temple. Then Mom stopped believing, left him, and took us with her. At the age of sixteen, I cashed in my dreams to pay the rent, pawned my destiny to keep my sisters together.

Now, seven years later, I’m returning home, grieving the death of my mother, and settling my sisters back into the life Mom threw away. I never intended to stay. I don’t want to deal with my father, who is so invested in the spiritual world he forgets the physical. I don’t want to face William Bailey, whose eyes remind me of the girl I was, the things I’ve done, and the future I lost.
This would all be easier if Will hated me. As it is, I have to hold my secrets close so they won’t hurt him more than they’ve already hurt me. But he wants to be in my life. He wants what I can’t bring myself to confess I sold. He wants me.

I find myself looking to my stars again...wondering if I dare one more wish.

Shannon’s Review:

This book was captivating.  There was heartache, pain, and sadness. This book is an astounding read and gives you a little different aspect of reading.

Cally was pretty, young, and dysfunctional. She came from a hard life with a mother who was, to simple put, a slut. She was a girl not wanting a past she had to catch back up with her. She needed her life different from her mothers.

William is hot, very forgiving, and one understandable guy. His family life was just as ragged as Cally’s life. He was completely in love with his one true love, Cally.

Love is a wonderful thing. It helps you overlook people have and done in there past. Love for William was strong for Callie. Love like this only comes every so often. So the love William had I think he ran with.

I am giving this book 4 hearts because of how fascinating this book captures you in the beginning. There is another book that came before this book. I have not read it but this book can be read as a standalone.
