Battle for Souls Blog Tour

“Battle For Souls Series”

By Ciara Knight

Rise From Darkness (Book I)
BLURB:
Alexander Lorre gives new meaning to the term “tormented teen.” He’s a newly fallen angel, which means he has the self-control of a three-year-old, the hormones of a teenager and the strength of an angel. When he rescues Gaby Moore from drowning, the chemistry between them is undeniable. With a local demon threatening Gaby’s life, he struggles to find a balance between remaining close enough to protect her but distant enough to control his desires.

As danger draws closer, Gaby uncovers shattering secrets that will lead to an ultimate choice. Will she fight alongside her father, an earthbound hunter killing fallen angels and demons, give into the demon blood coursing through her veins and join the demon world, or save the man she loves from both? The first two choices damn her, but the last one could destroy them all.

Dee's Review:
I'm going to start this review with what I didn't like. But please keep in mind, I'm a tough cookie to sell on Paranormal. So Gaby and Alexander are fated to be together. And they fall. FAST. I mean really fast. They barely hung out and saw each, but BAM..they're in love. I just felt like their time together and development of the relationship could have been a little deeper. That being said, the only other thing I didn't like, and it's not even that I didn't like it, it's that it was a little hard to follow at time. Let me explain. So in this book we have fallen angels, angels, demons and earthbound hunters. I'm not going to tell you who is what, you have to read for that. But at times, when the situation is being explained as to who can do what, who can help, this history or demons and angels- it got a little confusing. I'm still not sure I understand it too much. What I did like what that same thing. Confusing right? Demons vs angels. That intrigues me. Then throw the mix of an angel destined to walk earth, and someone who Heaven is fated to be involved in the battle between Heaven and Hell, and I'm all bring it on. The story line was good. It was interesting. The characters were all great- Grace, Sammy, Boon, Forras, Alexander, Gaby. I especially liked the forbidden romance going on with Boon and Sammy. Everything starts to build up and we know that Gaby is special, we just don't know why. And Forras wants her. ASSHOLE. sorry.. Anyway, he's a huge asshole and breaks some news to Gaby that Alex SHOULD'VE told her and didn't. This crushes her. Shakes her stability that is already on shaky ground when she is dealing with so much. Gaby's visions start to tell us the story of what is about to happen. Just when she thinks she's got it figured out- she realizes how wrong she is. AND the battle begins. But when Alex had to go find a cure for Sammy, I will say this. Immediately in my head, when he found Herak, I thought of the old Ram in King Fu Panda. Probably not the best thing to be running through your head, but it made me laugh. Probably shouldn't be laughing, but I did. There is just so much you have to decipher through the story. The drawings and what they mean.. where is her dad... what is Grace ... how does she know so much ... why is Sammy so secretive when it comes to Boon ... how did they fall.. so so much. Plus add in the hormones and angst of a teenager, wrapped in power.. it's interesting.  All in all, I liked it. I gave it 3 hearts . Lets see where this takes us.

Fall From Grace (Book II)
BLURB:

Gaby Moore’s powers emerge years too early due to adolescent hormones, complications with loving a fallen angel, and constant demon attacks. She is forced to deal with the guilt of believing she murdered Alexander’s “mother,” while trying to stop the demonic war before it begins. Only the love and acceptance of friends, family, and her beloved Alexander could save her from turning to her demonic side.

Dee's Review:
okay, reading these back to back is probably the best idea ever because book 2 picks right up where 1 left off. All our characters return and we have a little more of an idea of what's going on. However, in this book we have 2 more characters we need to keep our eye on. We have the principal and snotty Ms Popularity, Avery. The boyfriend stealer, that's the PG version of the name I want to call her. You can tell reading through this book something is going on with the Principal, The Prim, but you can't figure out what. Alex can't figure her out either- he just knows something is up. And Gaby. Reading this book I was like how are you all training her? Help her learn to control what's happening! You say she's powerful, work together DANG IT! Oh god, then we have hunters, and the dog is missing! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON! I feel like in this book Gaby was under this unbelievable amount of stress, and some was stubborness. But I feel like everyone managed her instead of trained and helped her. And then you have Avery who is an instant trigger. GAH! HELP HER! But through the everything, LOVE is a common denominator. For Everyone. Even through loss and grief, love is always there, always powerful. Especially for Gaby and Alex. It's almost like their love is what is the saving grace for them. They can do anything together. They complete each other. But this story still, missed a little for me. Some parts didn't make much sense. But the fight scene. That did. Holy Crap! I was sure the gates of hell were going to open!! Way to keep me on my toes. Again, I really liked it. Just some parts were a little iffy for me. All in all I rated it 3 hearts. Let's see how the story ends...

Ascension of Evil (Book III)
BLURB:

Gaby Moore fails to stop a demonic war which released condemned ancient angels and Lucifer’s minions to Earth. When all hope is lost, Herak, an Ancient sentenced to eternal solitude for starting the first demonic war, pledges to save the world. But is he really reformed and ready to fight, or will he betray Gaby and Alexander forcing them to sacrifice their love and each other to save the world?

Dee's Review:
Okay. Now that is how you end a book. Heck a series. All this time, I think I was irritated because she was babied and protected and never allowed to grow and learn her full powers and abilities. Finally, Finally ...she does. Finally, she is learning to embrace and use them. As well as some new abilities she gets. Still in this book, Love is the common thread through them all. Father/daughter, soul mates, mother/son. Love. Love is the key to it all. Love and faith. But let me warn you, every deal has a loop hole. Man it was hard to keep up with everything going on. And then worrying if she was going to get enough Angels to fight in time? So much to worry about it. Who is going to betray them this time? And now Forras is back!! GAH! So much to worry about!! How does she handle it. But then the truth comes out about the Herak War. Oh. My. God. Pun intended. I was beside myself. I thought everyone was going to hate her. To abandon her. Let her fight alone. Just like everything else though, it is not what she thinks and the truth reveals itself in all due time. I thought this book was much better than the first two. The story line was much more involved and detailed. There is A LOT more going on, but it all ties in together nicely. All the characters from the first two books are back. All fighting. Sometimes together, sometimes with each other. I really enjoyed this book. I give it 3.5 hearts.
