Second chance romance books are my thing. I love when two people who are meant to be together are torn apart then destiny brings them together again.
London and Jared are no different, they have a story that expands over a long period of time. We get to see the build up, the sweetness, the oh man this is amazing and then the downfall. I knew it was coming (obviously it's a second chance romance) but I still didn't want it. I mean they seemed so perfect and yes I get why but still. Oh Jared you really fucked with my heart. I was so mad at his choices then he goes away like SERIOUSLY WTF???
When he finally decided to come back and make amends I was like HOLY SHIZZLE. DRAMA! YAAASSS
I love me some drama. Boy oh boy did shizz escalate quickly and I was kind of left like...
Huh? Who? She did what? And he? wait noooo that can't be right, I mean after all that she just?Alright so forging ahead I wanted to see how this mess was going to get cleaned up. OMG oh hells nah did the author just? Wait she knew and still and then oh holy hell! my mind is just all over trying to grasp everything thrown at me.
I loved the concept of this book I loved the writing and the flow. I think the characters were a bit harder for me to connect with. I tried hard to like Jared. I liked London I thought she was a good character and poor Wes. Man that guy, loving someone in the wings for so long and then poof like sand they slip from your fingers, but even with that I was okay with him but not fond of him. Overall I think Michelle once again has shown her diversity in her writing. Stepping it up a notch with a concept that was intriguing. It had me running a gamut of emotions. I was happy, sad, frustrated, shocked, appalled, happy, then sad, and that is what I feel the author wanted me to connect with, the human emotion of it all. Everyday is not perfect, stuff happens in life that doesn't seem fair, people who we thought would always be there aren't. Then there is love, its a tricky pesky thing that keeps us held to people we should let go of, we should move on from but like Selena Gomez says The Heart Wants What it Wants. In the whole spectrum of it I enjoyed that aspect of the book. I also like the timeline, it's in sync with Ace's book (Wicked White) were he is missing and leaves. It fit the scheme perfectly. I can't wait to see what Michelle has in store for me next because I have a feeling it's going to be a doozy!
