Every woman wants me--except the one I sing for.
Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are
getting pregnant just thinking about my band being in town.
But when you love a girl, you don't leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise. Any
man with half a brain should know.
So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?
Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.
When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like I'm
a god--but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl's not happy to see me.
Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that's her -- Pandora Stone is a freaking man-
eater and she's out for my blood.
That's alright.
Let her come at me. Because I'm out for her heart and, this time, there's no way she can
stop me.
Do you know what is crazy to me? how an author can come up with so many different storeis and write them all so well that you love all the characters involved. When I had read about Pandora in previous books in the series I always wondered why she was so moody and hated men. Well after reading this book I totes got it.
Pandora is Mel and Brookes friend. She is described as a goth chick with black lipstick, with black hair with a pink streak in it. In this book we finally get to see and understand why she is the way that she is and let me say that I get her. I understand why she is this way. She is a scorned lover.
Then we meet McKenna and oh boy! I was like whoa. He is the lead singer of a very popular band. They come back into town for a show. When Pandora she finds out he will be in town she hatches a plan. The plan wellll...its funny as hell and so Pandora. I loved the fact that Mel went along with her, even though she doesn't know the history between the two, she loves her friend enough that she just goes along with the plan.
Lets just say that chaos ensues and Pandora ends up going on tour with the band. Slowly her story is revealed and I enjoyed every single morsel.
In true Katy Evans style, there is angst and drama and oh my gawd the building up of lust and sexual tension. When everything comes out and you finally get a sense of what? who? and Why! I was exasperated. Little by little the puzzle pieces are set before you, like a great cuisine. Slowly as I chewed on each piece of information, I thought I knew what I was eating but no I was faked out. Usually I can guess what is going to happen but I was totes off on this one and I am okay with that. I love when an author is able to get the best of me. I laughed, my eyes misted up, I screamed at my kindle a few times but overall I loved this story. It is a great one to add to the Real series. I also enjoyed seeing the cameos from Brooke and Mel. I have truly missed all these characters and am so glad that Pandoras story was told.
Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to
love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her
family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her
characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning...
