"Without trust, we have nothing."
These are the words which have haunted Melanie Erickson for six years. When she walked out of the house Xavier Ross bought as their forever home, she thought she was closing that door permanently, but fate had other plans.
Xavier Ross tried to keep everyone at a distance until Melanie came into his life. The more he tried to fight his feelings for her, the more he fell in love. One rash decision fractured the trust that was essential to their relationship.
Six years later, she is the last person he expects to see walk through his front door. Will Xavier and Mel be able to learn to trust one another again so they can fulfill a dying woman’s wish?

Sloan. , you slay me with your words in this book. I feel like you cut me deep and emotion is just pouring out of me. A true emotional ride from start to finish. I liked so many different things from this book. I loved how invested I immediately became, I love that despite how he knows he feels for Mel, he respects his marriage and his wife to not do anything about it. I like that he realizes that he has loved both women two different ways. I love that he owned up to the fact that he made mistakes, manned up to what he did wrong in the past. I love the necklace. I love it's symbolism. I love Jacob, who doesn't love that kid. I love Alyssa. I didn't want to. Especially because she called Mel the bitch who broke your heart, and I love Mel. So i want to not like this woman. But like Mel, I couldn't. I love Brayden and Tyler. Now let me tell you want I hated. Stacie. I mean that's a deep betrayal. And the crap she spewed. Just wow. I hated how toward the end the past and what/ifs were impacting their future. The past is gone you two, you don't live there anymore! But I completely understood. Everything about this book was one big emotional ride for me. One thing after another had me so emotionally invested in this book. I just kept getting pulled in deeper and deeper. It was amazing.
A definite 5 heart read from me.
