Well it wasn't what she expected when she walks into a sad villa and learns why it is rundown. I mean I was heartbroken for the children and as Amber could understand why they acted out at times.
Oh and then I met Desiderio or Derio! Whooooo hot Italian Stallion gorgeous and brooding. What's his issue I thought and why does he spend so much damn time in that office? Why doesn't he spend time with his little brother and sister, what kind of family is this?
I love going into books blind because I like not having an expectation, I love reading an falling with the characters, I love to read as the bond grows. I love to watch the drama unfold, I love feeling what they feel and this book had all of that and so much more. Romance, drama, love, and angst. Oh there was angst and I was upset at one point thinking OH MY GOD NOOOOO!
Through it all I got to read as Amber went from unsure to confident. She flourished finding her way. Her parents irked me especially her dad, as a parent I get wanting your children to have a good future but to put your own child down ugh no.
What captured me beside the way the words were woven together to bring out a beautiful and powerful love story was the way Derio also blossomed as a lover, friend and brother. Sure there were times I cringed but overall he came around and grasped family.
Overall the story is great and I was rooting for Amber and Derio together and apart. What? you ask? Well I mean I loved that once together they made it a mission to find their way together but they also wanted each other to find themselves apart from one another and that is what love is, wanting the other person to be happy and find their path with you right beside them.
