The Beautiful Now, the new contemporary romance from New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, M. Leighton, is LIVE!  Get it for the release price of $3.99 while it lasts, or read for FREE in Kindle Unlimited!  Grab your copy here.

Dane James worked my stepfather’s fields. He was the boy next door.

Strong.
Hardworking.
Forbidden.

From the moment we met, we were star-crossed lovers—always wanting, never having. We loved each other for most of our lives, but right from the beginning destiny had other plans.  She knew we would fall in love.  She knew we would fall apart.  Over and over again, like the curse of a recurring nightmare.  Or the hope of a familiar dream.

Our past was tumultuous.  Our future was bleak.  But the one thing we always had was the beautiful now.

Until that was taken from us, too.

Get it for the release price of $3.99 while it lasts, or read for FREE in Kindle Unlimited!  Grab your copy here.

This is what early readers are saying:

✩ "This is the best book that I have read in 2017 yet!!"  -- Heidi

I truly wish I could give this one more five stars, I would definitely give 10 if I could. This is one of those books, you just know from the beginning is going to pull at your heartstrings and it really does. I've read of ton of books this year and this one just moved to the top of my favorites list."--Catherine

✩ "The Beautiful Now is exactly that - Beautiful. It's love story of epic proportions."  --  Courtney
✩ "What I loved was that their story transcends the span of 22 years and shows that love can last forever even when all the odds are stacked against you. That there is always a way even when we think all hope is lost. That even when we do what we think is best and hurt the ones we love that their is forgiveness to be found and second chances are a blessing not to be taken lightly. And when faced with the harsh realities of life, love can still prevail over all."  --  Jennifer

✩ "I started reading - and I kept on reading. I couldn't stop. It was all so heartbreakingly sad and beautiful and sweet and frustrating and I just could not stop."  --  Bianca

Okay, I will not cry...I will not cry.

M. Leighton has a very unique way of writing that captures you and I found that I had read so much during the night that I was due to get up soon.  Oh but make no mistake my eyes were bloodshot and red from the tears.

The way that she created this story it is told over a span of time. Present to the past and back again. Oh man, my heart ached for Brinkley. Here is this woman who is devoted to her daughter Celina and would do anything for her and my heart is aching even as I am typing this, seriously I can't stop crying.

And what would a great tale be without an epic love story? Believe me, when you begin to read about Dane you are intrigued, here is this kid who doesn't give a crap about what others in this small town think of him. He is the outsider because he doesn't have money but dang he makes a lasting impression, at least he did in my heart.

Reading from Brinkley's POV from the present and back in the past it helped me to see the love that flowed between the two. Why she felt the way she did. There were times I did get mad/frustrated because Brinkley's mom was such a mean lady when Brinkley came back with her daughter Celina. I was like LADY WTF? And then I learned about Celina and those water works....back again.
Being a mother I could relate to Brinkley and wanted to do everything she could to make Celina happy. I would go to the ends of the earth for my children and that is exactly how Brinkley was, now her mom.....

I have not liked people in books before whoa this lady was something else. I mean okay I get you want a better life but to marry a rich man just for his money? Gross. Then you tell your daughter to go out with these entitled pricks who don't respect her and say well if you lose your virginity to him no biggie and if you happen to get pregnant you'll be set and taken care of....WHAT? Nope. You need to read to see how this one plays out because you all know me...NO SPOILERS

Honestly, I feel that you need to read this to get the entire scope of these characters. There were a few times I smiled but I cried so many times and IDK if it was just me but damn M. Leighton just got me right in the feels.

Sometimes I just need one of these books and I just have to say that I love M. Leighton's writing. She never disappoints and again she has brought a beautiful story with so many facets I am pretty sure I will be remembering it for a long time to come!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid Blog Tour

Holy WOW!

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready, to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one in the journalism community is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?

Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband, David, has left her, and her career has stagnated. Regardless of why Evelyn has chosen her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.

Summoned to Evelyn’s Upper East Side apartment, Monique listens as Evelyn unfurls her story: from making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the late 80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way. As Evelyn’s life unfolds—revealing a ruthless ambition, an unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love—Monique begins to feel a very a real connection to the actress. But as Evelyn’s story catches up with the present, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

Written with Reid’s signature talent for “creating complex, likable characters” (Real Simple), this is a fascinating journey through the splendor of Old Hollywood into the harsh realities of the present day as two women struggle with what it means—and what it takes—to face the truth.

I did not know what I was getting into with this book but WOW! I have never read anything by TJR and I am so glad that this book, THIS BOOK was the one to introduce me to her. Right away I was hooked by her writing style. It was easy and seamless then as the characters were introduced I understood why everyone was in love with her books.

Monique is working for 'Vivant' she is virtually an unknown writer but is chosen by Evelyn to write her biography. I thought it was an odd request but HOLY SHIZZLE! I never saw that coming when it is finally revealed and OMG I just couldn't believe it. Okay, I could but still, it was executed perfectly and I swear I did not see it coming.

The deeper the story Evelyn wove the more entranced I was with her character. She made mistakes and did things that were not nice but that just made her more human. There are several things in my life I wish I had done differently but I can't and I just have to accept the consequences of those actions much like Evelyn does. With every tale, Evelyn tells about her husbands my emotions were everywhere and Harry, God I love him so much. I cried a few times during the book because man her life had so many ups and downs and I have no clue how she survived some of those things. There were times that Evelyn made me mad but in the end, I could understand some of her choices. I think that is what had me so engrossed in this novel.

What I really loved was the fact that I thought this book was going to just tell a simple tale of a Hollywood actress but what I got was so much more. The passion, love, and loss had me reeling. While I have read books about Hollywood A-list actors this one was so different and emotional. I am so glad that I went into this book completely blind because the love story was beautiful and so important. It needed to be told and in this way.

In the end, Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote a riveting, fascinating, and heartwarming poignant tale with twists and turns I did not see coming. Those secrets revealed by Evelyn gah, my heart! This is one of my top books of 2017 easily.

4.5/5 hearts
