For more than a year, Tanner West has tried to shake his feelings for his long time best friend, Paisley Bronson. She was the perfect girl to fit the lyrics in all his favorite songs – the girl he had always wanted. When she fell in love with another man before Tanner had the chance to tell her how he felt, he was left with no resolve to find love again. Burying himself in school and easy girls has become his new lifestyle, but when Kellee Brooks shows up at his favorite bar, he begins to think there may be another verse to his song, after all.
Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, she’s desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds there’s much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.
With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart – or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?
Break free with this heartbreaking story of letting go and letting love in.

My heart feels like it’s about to beat right out of my chest. Tanner is looking at me like he’s not good enough to touch me and like he can’t keep his fucking hands off me all at the same time. I inhale deep, my breath shaky as I try to find the words to say. I want to talk about it more – about what she is to him, about when she’s coming and what I’m going to have to deal with – but right now all I can think about is how his hands feel on my waist, and how I wish he would touch every inch of my body with those hands.
          “Kiss me,” I breathe.
Tanner doesn’t waste another second. His lips find mine, soft and gentle at first, but then a fire consumes us both and I’m biting his neck as he lifts me from my chair. He kisses down my collarbone and then back up to my ear, sending chills cascading down my arms and legs. I moan softly, running my fingers through his hair and tugging a little as I pull his lips back to mine. He slides his tongue between my lips and takes my mouth, deepening the kiss as his hands explore my body.
“How long until dinner?” he pants between kisses.
          “Maybe twenty minutes.”
“That’ll do,” he replies, carrying me to the couch.
Tanner’s hands are hungry as he positions himself on top of me, pulling the straps of my tank top down to kiss my shoulders. He nips and sucks softly, trailing a line from my shoulders, to my neck, across my collar bone, and back again. Slowly, he kisses a little lower, sucking at the swell just above the hem of my top. I inhale sharply, my fingers gripping his hair.
“You taste so sweet,” he mumbles against my skin, lighting it on fire. He lifts my shirt and slowly kisses down my stomach, stopping just above the hem of my shorts. He blazes a trail of fire with his tongue from one hip to the other, working the buttons and zipper until he has my shorts loose enough to pull down my shaking legs and throw across the room. He smiles up at me, his sexy half grin silently killing me, and then he completely takes my breath away – because he pulls my panties off with his teeth.
          With. His. Teeth.
Suddenly, my heart is beating in my throat. I’m not a virgin, but I’m definitely no where near as experienced as Tanner, no matter how cocky my façade may be. My legs are shaking uncontrollably and I feel it start to move up to my hands. Tanner stops kissing my thighs and looks up at me, concern laden on his face.
“Are you okay?” he asks, moving to position himself on top of me again. He brushes the hair from my face and pulls my shaking hand to his lips, kissing my fingers softly as he waits for me to reply.
I nod, though not confidently. “I hate admitting this to you, but I’m not that experienced.”
He smiles devilishly, his eyes lighting the fire in my stomach again. “You think I don’t know that? Why do you think I’m going so slow?”
I let out of a puff of air, “This is slow?”
His grin grows wider, “Trust me – if I had it my way, your ankles would have been on my shoulders the first night I saw you.”

About Becoming A Jett Girl:
becoming a jett girlHow did I start the Lafayette Club?
Well, I’m in the business of saving tarnished souls. I hand pick girls from the street who have no options left in life and give them an opportunity they can’t possibly refuse.
They come to work in the Lafayette Club which is full of EXQUISITE DEBAUCHERY, where influential men come to conduct business and lap dances are considered a fine art.
The girls are trained, they are morphed, they are educated, they follow the rules of the club and they know to submit to me. They live by my motto, no relationships, no love, just sex.
They are never touched, only by me, they are never completely naked, only with me, and their personas are entirely anonymous. The only person who knows who they truly are, is me, Jett Colby.
If these girls were ever seen on the streets of New Orleans, you would never know they were a Jett Girl.

“Work Bitch”

Goldie

“Where the fuck are my titty tassels?” Lyla announced, as she dug through her locker.

She was always losing her tassels. To be honest, I didn’t know why she used them to begin with; they were more eighties porn than New Orleans strip club, but she swore they drove the men crazy. I wouldn’t know, since I was always stuck on drink duty, but that wasn’t my choice.
“Seriously, Goldie, have you seen my tassels? I’m on in five,” Lyla pleaded.

“I haven’t. Maybe you should try something other than mini curtains hanging off your tits, huh?

Maybe wear...oh, what do they call it...a bra?”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Lyla asked, as she shimmied her naked tits in my face and I tried to smack her jugs away.

There was a reason why Lyla, my roommate, was center stage at Kitten’s Castle every night. She was drop-dead gorgeous. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little lady wood every time she was up on stage. She was one of those mixed breeds who lucked out by having parents with perfect genes. Her skin was a deep brown color, her eyes were light green, and her hair was pitch black. Exotic could be a word to describe her, but I would also say fuck-me-in-the-ass beautiful. Yeah, that pretty much described her.

Lyla gave up on the search for her tassels and threw on a white cropped T-shirt over her naked breasts.

“I’ll just do my wet T-shirt routine tonight. There’s a bachelor party out there that has a lot of money to spend,” she said, while wiggling her eyebrows.

“When is there not a bachelor party out there?” I responded. “It’s New Orleans for fuck’s sake and we work at one of the most premier spots for men to get away with murder when they’re away from their own personal finger huts. You know, since the lighting is pretty much non-existent in here.”

Lyla crinkled her nose at my statement. “Hey, I like the fact that the lights aren’t very bright in here. I’d rather not have a spotlight shining up my Britney while I’m dancing on stage.”

“Easy for you to say; you’re not the one delivering drinks in the dark. I swear, Marv is trying to kill me out there.” I slammed my hand on the vanity and said, “And when the hell am I going to get my chance on stage?”

“Down girl. You get paid well.”

“Yeah, but I get groped every time a pass a hairy and horny man and, as we know, that’s pretty much every guy in this dump.”
“You got to work it, bitch, if you want to get the hell out of here, so stop complaining and put your garter belt on. We have some willing customers out there with some fat wallets.”

I huffed and waved Lyla off as she raced out to the stage to get ready for her act.

I looked into the mirror and studied the reflection that looked back at me. Ugh, I hated that my life had become an uphill climb of trying to pay off bills and debt that were, unfortunately, not even mine, but that of my dead parents. Every day, I have to practically sell my soul to skeezy men just to make sure I don’t go hungry and I can pay off the stack of bills that are piling up on my counter.

I’ve spent the last nine years of my life trying to climb back from the hole that Hurricane Katrina put in it and it hasn’t been easy, especially since I have no degree and no job experience.

That’s why I’m currently sitting in front of a rusty old vanity with piss poor lighting, outlining my azure colored eyes with cheap-as-fuck eyeliner and praying that only one man tries to stick his thumb in my ass tonight. It was a common occurrence amongst the pervs.

I think I am in love.... and I don't know who I'm all lusty after more- Jett or Kace. Meghan did an amazing job with this book. She has such a great balance of sass, sexiness, drama and humor. I love Goldie's smart mouth. I love that she doesn't give Jett everything he asks for right off the bat each time he asks. I love even more how much Jett needs it, how much he ends up needing her. Kace is such a great guy too. I thought there in the beginning that Goldie and Kace were going to get together, I really did. Since the way the story rolls out, she doesn't want him, I'll take him! And Rex.. I.. I'm on the fence about this guy. I think him and daddy dickhead are up to something... And I'm dying to know what. Then we have the girls... The Jett Girls. I love the idea behind the club, the reason for it. Even more so, I love that it's working and he's proud of his girls. But I am worried. What happens when a new girl arrives? How will Goldie adjust to that? How will Jett handle that? Each girl seems to have her own unique personality and thing she brings to the table. I think Goldie may need a little more time to figure out what that is for her, but I have no doubt she'll get there.

Meghan did a great job writing this book. It flowed well, you don't lose interest at all. You feel the Burlesque-like idea behind the club and the family they build. I can't wait to see where this goes. I just hope that in he next one Jett doesn't push her away so much and maybe opens up a little more... Only fair since he knows so much about Lo.

I give this book 4 hearts

About Meghan Quinn

meghan quinnWhen I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn’t take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch, besides “The Notebook” I made time to read the heartbreaking novel.
It wasn’t until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books, I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven’t turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I am currently residing in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

excerpt
“What made you change your mind about meeting me?”
She hesitated for a second before saying, “I was curious.”
I grinned. “Perfect reason. You should always give in to your curiosities, especially the forbidden ones.”
I stepped closer to her, placing my hands on the wall just over her shoulders, caging her in, pressing her up against the wall. I dipped my head and barely touched my lips to hers, waiting to see what she would do. As I expected, her tongue parted her lips ever so slightly as though trying to wet them for a kiss.
I let my tongue graze along Catherine’s, then pressed my lips firmly to hers. My tongue dove into her mouth. She opened wider, willingly taking it. She tasted like wine and mint.
A short gasp escaped from her mouth as my hand pulled her dress up, my fingers pressing into the soft, smooth flesh of her thigh.
My cock twitched in my pants. I heard my heartbeat in my ears. Felt my face getting warmer by the second.
I moved down to her neck, tasting her skin and feeling her head drop to my shoulder.
I was finding myself lost in the sensory blur that was Catherine. Her scent, how her flesh felt when I applied pressure with my hands, how she tasted, how I could feel her pulse rapidly pounding against my lips when I kissed her neck.
I slipped one finger under the front of her strapless dress, slowly pulling it down to expose her. I looked down and watched as the fabric slid over the slope of the top of her breast.
With one finger, I traced the outer edge of her bra, teasing her flesh.
“When I said you were going to get the fucking of a lifetime, did you think those were just words?”
She looked up from what my finger was doing and blinked. “I want to believe you.”
She had some doubt. Excellent. “Are you challenging me, Catherine?”
She bit her lower lip. “Maybe.”
I tilted my head and grinned. “Not a good idea.”

Excerpt:
Shy Ann’s was next in Quinn’s quest to find Sabrina. He opened the door and surveyed the patrons. Sure enough, she sat by the bar, the top of her lovely head barely visible among the crowd. No one sat next to her.

She swiveled in her chair as if an unknown force made her turn around. After a brief second of eye contact, she slowly and deliberately turned away from the door.

A surge of energy passed through him and he marched up to the other side of the bar, away from Sabrina and near the bell that hung over the counter. “Melora!”

The other woman turned at the sound of her name but frowned when she saw who called it. She poured him a Guinness and slammed it down on the counter. “Drink this and go.”

“Melora, I have a problem!”

Instead of ringing the bell and getting the attention of everyone at the bar, Melora turned away and got another drink order. Quinn steeled himself with determination and rang the bell himself. “Hey, Dr. Bankhead! I have a problem!”

The crowd quieted down and every pair of eyes focused on him. Murmured conversations carried through the restaurant, but he held Melora’s gaze. Her angry gaze, with eyes narrowed and lips pursed together. To keep from yelling what she really wanted, Quinn was sure.
“Quinn has a problem!” she shouted through gritted teeth. He didn’t care.

“The doctor is in!” roared the crowd.

“What’s your problem? Asshole.” She said the last part quietly enough that only those around the bell heard.

He took a deep breath. This was it. His one chance. “I’m involved with the smartest, prettiest, funniest woman on the planet. Only something happened and now she thinks I’m the biggest jerk to ever walk the hallowed streets of Harbin.”

“Then I’d say you should cut your losses and get the hell out of our town.”

“I’m not finished. The thing that happened. It was completely independent of anything I did. Only she won’t let me close enough to explain.”

Melora tapped her finger on the bar and shot a look over at her sister. Sabrina shook her head.

“If this woman is as smart as you say she is, then you’re out of luck. The doctor has spoken!”

The crowd cheered in approval, but Quinn wasn’t done. He flipped a nickel in the jar that read Psychiatric Help, 5¢, and rang the bell again. When Melora didn’t turn around, he kept ringing.

“What now?”

The crowd quieted again. Quinn ignored Melora and turned to Sabrina. “I can’t leave it like this.”

Sabrina hopped off her stool and came to his side of the bar amid the hushed whispers of the other patrons. Her lips fixed in a small half-smile and ran her fingers lightly down his chest. Her eyes told him this was not an act of forgiveness but he braced himself for whatever she wanted to dish out. He deserved it.

“Quinn, I believe I act for all womankind when I do this.” She lifted his glass of beer and poured the drink on his head, then shook the remnants out.

The cool shock of the drink was nothing like the ice that replaced the fire in his belly. The crowd quieted down while beer poured down his hair and cheeks and wet his shirt and jeans, eventually dripping to his feet.

“Okay, then.” He held his voice low and smooth. Another bartender tossed him a towel, and he wiped his face, then folded the material neatly and handed it back, his desire tightly reined and shoved into the deep recesses of his soul. “The doctors have spoken!”

The patrons roared and he put a twenty dollar bill in the jar. He left without looking back at the woman who had almost changed his life.
